Tiffin Teahouse will use 37 as extension space for their thriving cafe business on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. With excellent home baked cakes and fantastic all day breakfasts among many other tasty treats , this is a popular venue in West Bridgford and the 37 space will allow for group/party bookings and more space at weekends to enjoy a relaxing treat.
Every morning at 37 (Mondays to Thursdays) the cafe space will become a community space for a variety of hobby clubs and activities. These will be run by the community for the community. Anyone is welcome to share a hobby or skill and anyone is welcome to join a workshop. Craft , woodwork, furniture restoration, photography, painting, quilting, book groups etc...all free..
The activities are based around the "5 ways to wellbeing' which promote good mental and emotional health. To connect, give, be active, keep learning and take notice will hopefully contribute towards a preventative approach to mental ill health .
All are welcome to join in serving and being served. This is run by the community for the community. New Life Baptist Church reserve the right to select activities in line with broadly Christian principles.
Youth and Children
After school we hope 37 will become the sort of space young people and children with their parents feel free to drop into, share skills, learn a new hobby, catch up with friends and find ways to become active members of the community.
On Tuesdays the space will be transformed into a kids club for primary school aged children. Parents will be able to sign their children into one of the activities provided by the trained children's team of New Life Baptist Church for half an hour or so and pop next door for a coffee. The activities will be run along broadly Christian themes and the quiet room will also be open for simple meditation style activities for young people.
On Wednesdays the space will be just for young people and milkshakes and cookies will be provided at a greatly reduced cost. Discussion groups, craft activities, card games etc will be run by the New Life youth team, giving young people a welcoming environment. We will also be encouraging them to find ways to give to others with opportunities to serve their community and information about getting involved in charity trips etc.
